Indy IV Has a Title

Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

Hmm.  Sounds mythic.  Like it belongs in the paperback section of the fantasy/science fiction rack at Borders, or among the relics of the old Saturday matinee adventure serials.

Exactly as it should.

The more I hear about this movie, the more excited I get.  I am ready to see a new Spielberg movie.  Something that’s not a brooding examination of humanity (A.I.) or the oppressive poison of vengeance (Munich).  Something that’s not a cheerless two-hour exposition on the futility of the Iraq war (War of the Worlds).

I want to see a SPIELBERG MOVIE.

Something to fill the longing for high adventure.  A hero worth cheering for. An epic story of imagination and intrigue I want to join.

  1. Is George Lucas involved in this one too? If so, that explains the title. Lucas is absolutely great at coming up with B-Movie titles for great movies. I mean, just think about it: The Empire Strikes Back or Attack of the Clones. Even his other Indy movies come to mind: The Temple of Doom.

How cheesy can you get for titles? But how awesome can you get for the movies!!!

  2. Yeah, I don’t like the title. The other three were pithier, more catchy. This one’s too much of a mouthful. The Crystal Kingdom or the Crystal Skull would have been fine, but not “Kingdom of the Crystal Skull.”
